5 Ways to Care for Your Car in the Spring

Ways to Care for Your Car in the Spring

In the Northern Hemisphere, spring is just around the corner.  No longer will we have to worry about salting down our driveways and roads, or worrying about how to get out of that snow pile you managed to get stuck in.  Now we have to worry about bugs, warmer weather approaching, among other things.  Not to mention — April showers brings May flowers …which just means the roads will still be slick because of all the rain.

With spring hopping into our lives very shortly, what are some things you can do to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape for the spring?  www.euautodeler.co.no is here to give you 5 car care tips.

Check Your Breaks

The roads are still going to be slick during the spring.  Just because there’s no ice on the roads, doesn’t mean we don’t have anything to worry about.  When it rains, it pours as they say.  When the rain comes, it immediately draws up oils from the roads, creating slick and dangerous conditions.  Make sure you check your breaks so that you don’t end up causing an accident when you can hardly see.  Speaking of …

Use Rain-X

Rain-X is a great resource during the springtime.  Putting it on your windshields causes the rain to bead up and roll off your car.  This reduces the need for your windshield wipers, and allows more visibility when the roads become hazardous.

Remove Leftover Salt

All that salt that was used to make the roads safer all winter is very damaging to your vehicle.  The salt can help rust the metal in the undercarriage of your car.  Remove it when you can via a very good car wash.

Check the Air Pressure in Your Tires

The cold weather could have tricked your car all winter long into thinking the tire pressure was lower than it was.  However, you still want to check to make sure that the air pressure in your tires is where it should be.  200 deaths per year are caused by tire problems, so this is highly important.

Clean the Inside of Your Car

Spring cleaning, right?  All the snow, salt, and residue that you left in your car during the wintertime can finally come off.  A good wiping down of your seats and car mats will keep them from getting eaten away by driveway salt or ruined by watermarks.  And a good vacuuming of your car’s carpet will get it ready to handle all the dirt and sand you’ll drag in from the spring and summer months.
